Tweety Trump goes to war

The armed conflict that plagued Syria for seven years has created a serious humanitarian crisis and plunged the Syrian population into great suffering. A population of 20.6 million in 2011 and still 17.1 in 2016 because despite the war the birth rate remains high. The average age of the population is 23.7 years for men and 24.6 years for women. 32% are between 0 and 14 years old. According to sources, the conflict has so far killed 350,000 to 500,000 people. In addition, between 1.5 and 2 million people are injured. Between 6 and 8 million people have been internally displaced and 13.1 million people depend on emergency assistance, more than two-thirds of the Syrian population. Nearly 3 million of them are in hard-to-reach areas and besieged cities. The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) estimates that more than 5.4 million refugees in the region, mainly in Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan, nearly 40% of whom are under 12 years of age. About 1 million of them arrived in Europe. (UNHCR statistics as at 7 December 2017 http://www.unhcr.org/en/urgence-in-syrie.html )

The West (Europe and the USA) did not do much to put an end to this conflict, made more complex and deadly by the arrival of the ISIS, then by the intervention of Iran, Turkey and especially Russia. Trump and the Europeans seem to discover the use of chemical weapons – a practice disputed by Russia, which defends Assad. Can we really think that bombing Syria (or what remains of it) will be the solution, when in 7 years nobody was able to get rid of the main person responsible for this massacre: Assad? Even at the cost of creating a generalized conflict in the Middle East.

The irresponsibility of politicians is scary, irony and sarcasm remain our only recourse.

Here are some tweets from Trump: end 2017, he wanted to solve the problem with Russia:

Donald J.Trump @realDonaldTrump
When will all the haters and fools out there realize that having a good relationship with Russia is a good thing, not a bad thing. There always playing politics – bad for our country. I want to solve North Korea, Syria, Ukraine, terrorism, and Russia can greatly help! 2:18 AM – Nov 12, 2017 Vietnam

And now he wants to bomb everybody:

Donald J.Trump @realDonaldTrump
Russia vows to shoot down any and all missiles fired at Syria. Get ready Russia, because they will be coming, nice and new and “smart!” You shouldn’t be partners with a Gas Killing Animal who kills his people and enjoys it! 12:57 PM – Apr 11, 2018

Donald J.Trump @realDonaldTrump
Our relationship with Russia is worse now than it has ever been, and that includes the Cold War. There is no reason for this. Russia needs us to help with their economy, something that would be very easy to do, and we need all nations to work together. Stop the arms race? 1:37 PM – Apr 11, 2018
