The Exhibition

La Maison du Dessin de Presse de Morges (Svitzerland) offers a beautiful retrospective exhibition of cartoons published in the Swiss press during the year 2017. A year particularly rich in national and international political events, and social events that has left little respite to cartoonists. The abondance of cartoons which resulted made it difficult for the curators to select the works now exhibited .
On the side of the scenography, the cartoons are exposed month by month, in a universe reminiscent of newspapers.

About the Maison du Dessin de Presse

Inaugurated in 2009, the Maison du Dessin de Presse‘s mission is to perpetuate a tradition of caricature initiated with the International Press Drawing Exhibition as part of the Morges-sous-Rire Festival in the mid-1980s. Manage by the association of the same name, La Maison du Dessin de Presse remains an essential platform for raising awareness about freedom of expression and freedom of press. Located on the shores of Lake Geneva, in the cultural center of the city of MORGES, the Maison du Dessin de Presse is the only place in Switzerland highlighting the cartoons on news, satirical and humoristic through several exhibitions and events per year . It thus offers the public the opportunity to discover or rediscover the works of the press cartoonists through monographs, retrospectives, thematic exhibitions and publications. As a “house”, the goal is to make the place live by laughter, meetings, passionate and enriching discussions about this medium that encourages openness and a critical eye.
